Bathroom quote checklist for fitters

The details worth getting from a customer before you spend time driving out, measuring up or typing a bathroom quote after work.

A good bathroom quote starts before the site visit. The more useful detail you collect up front, the easier it is to see whether the job is a fit, price it properly and avoid a long chain of follow-up messages.

1. Customer details

Start with the simple basics: name, email, phone number and postcode. This gives you a clean record of the enquiry and makes it easier to send the quote PDF, booking link and any follow-up.

2. What work they want done

Ask what they are trying to achieve. A full bathroom refit, ensuite, cloakroom, shower replacement and repair-led job all need different questions. Keep the wording simple so the customer can answer without trade knowledge.

3. Bathroom choices

Choices change the price. Ask about the main items that matter to your pricing, such as bath or shower, screen, vanity, toilet, tiling, flooring, lighting and extras. If you offer set options, use those so customers are not left guessing.

4. Measurements

Room length, width and height are a good start. Depending on how you price, you may also want wall areas, floor area, shower area or tiled areas. The aim is not to replace a survey. It is to get enough information to price the first quote properly.

5. Photos and files

Photos are one of the fastest ways to understand the job. Ask for clear pictures of the whole bathroom, pipework, current layout, problem areas and any inspiration images. If the customer has plans or supplier quotes, collect those too.

6. Timing and access

Ask when they want the work done, whether the property is lived in, and whether there are access issues. This helps you spot jobs that are urgent, awkward or not right for your diary.

Keep the first step easy
The customer does not need a trade survey form. They need a clear, guided quote request that asks the right questions in the right order.

What happens after the checklist?

Once the customer has filled in the quote request, YourQuoteApp uses your pricing setup to calculate the quote and email a professional PDF in around 30 seconds. The quote email can also include a booking link for a site visit, so serious customers can take the next step.

You still decide whether to visit, adjust the final price and accept the work. The app simply helps you get the information before you spend your time.
